  1. Dear Anon, Applying Feng Shui is also very similar to taking an examination. For example, many of us can remember having to take say an examination that requires us to answer 4 questions out of 10 questions. Here, many of us would recall our teachers teaching us examination techniques. And the advise by our teacher is to try to attempt to answer all 4 questions instead of only 3. For example, in the past, how many of us do not allocate time for each question. Thus in a 2 hour paper, and if we need to answer 4 questions, this means that we should allocate 30 minutes for each question. How many of us do not do this and as a result, managed to answer only 3 questions and totally give up on the 4th question. Our teachers would advise us that the above is not productive. If possible, do try to answer all four compulsory questions. By answering all four, we should have a better chance in passing our examination -- for those who often scrape thru their examinations. It is the same as Feng Shui. What you had mentioned is only one part of the Feng Shui examination i.e. the Eight House theory. But what about: the Shapes and Forms and Flying Star Feng Shui? Thus, instead of unduly worrying only about the Eight House/Gua / Kua numbers, we should try to maximize our Feng Shui luck in as many other areas as possible! As they say "No point in crying over spill milk! It does not do any good). In addition to Feng Shui, (which is Earth Luck) we should also try to improve other areas such as Human or Man Luck. With so many areas to improve on, we should not just give up hope on one factor -- only. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Sophia, What I meant is that one should not display 6-of-them on the same table or pair them up together. But rather, there is no major issue if they are not ALL figurines but if there is a picture of them and a set of three figurines. Thus I am talking about 2 sets of Fu, Luo & Shou. Much like identical twins : Fu Fu, Luo Luo & Shou Shou. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Sophia, So long as the altar table is of sufficient length (often proper altar tables fit the Feng Shui ruler measurement); there should not be an issue as to how many deities are placed on the table. It also depends on the size of the deity and usually, as mentioned previously all of them should not be placed on the same height or level. The rule of thumb is that one should place a reasonable number of deities one worships but bear in mind that there should if possible no two identical type of figurine such as two Guan Yin's etc... (Other than buddha figurines since there are lots of various buddha's so having a few buddha figurines is not an issue) The most busiest time is the 1st and 15th lunar month at the Guan Yin temple; although these two dates are very auspicious, however, the temple can be very crowded especially on the 15th lunar month. This two days are good days. (But, try to be extra early on these two days). Dear Master Cecil Lee Well, thanks regarding the kuan yin that should not have two at the altar table. So, what the number to place the deities at the altar table. We intend to remove/send one of the kuan yin to the temple. If possible the ganapati (elephant god) send to the indian temple or can it be send to any temple. Asganapati I prayed since I was very young (maybesix years old from my parent). Is there any procedures like choosing the date or time orone have to ask the temple caretaker to place the deity at the temple. Thank you With warmest regards Sophia Chia
  4. Dear Sheila, Since traditional Feng Shui has two schools: Shapes and form as well as Compass (Eight House & Flying Star); it is best to apply both to the home in relation to other factors like Grand Duke of Jupiter (Tai Sui). If one is renovating or going to renovate the entire house, it is best to find an aupicious date to start renovations - this will do. And after the renovations, try to avoid any more work to sensitive sectors like NW, West and East. Therefore, this is the only consideration towards what not to do after a major renovation. If one is going to do minor renovations and it happens to fall within any of the above three sectors, then, see if one can postphone the renovations only after the next Lunar new year - 2006 onwards. Therefore for Grand Duke, the above are the most logical advice on it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear SP, 1. Before we go into the interior of the home, let us not forget that what is more important is the external Feng Shui of the home. 2. This is because the most effective Parent-String for the exterior: because there is a MS#8 at the facing of the home and that there is a WS#8 at the back of the home, if it is a landed property ideally; there is another landscape e.g. property that is at least 1 storey high facing the home to act as the mountain. And, if it is possible to have a water at the back of the landed property e.g. a swimming pool. 3. However for a condominium or apartment it is equally good if say the apartment is at low floor and at the facing direction, we can see another apartment of similar height as this apartment. Here, MS#8 is most effective. 4. However, for your home, if it is an apartment, one can still activate a symbolic mountain e.g. at the balcony e.g. stone landscaping but avoid a water feature, here. And in order for the parent string to be effective, where possible, the centrepoint of the home should not have a toilet and if possible also a parent string can be activated automatically if the home is more or less rectangular and not odd shaped. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. 1. West - thisyear's location of Grand Duke or Tai Sui Do notdistrubTai Suiat this location : Do not paint the walls or drill holes or hack the walls, here. 2.East -avoid doing any renovations at this location. Every year, it is always the opposite wall of the Grand Duke i.e. if Grand Duke is at West, then one should avoid renovations in the East. And if say, Grand Duke is at North, then we should avoid renovations at the opposite side i.e. South. 3. North-west - This year, #5 or bad yellow star is located, here and best not to "distrub" the earth at NW given that #5 is at this location. Also check that if this is a bedroom, try to avoidBRIGHT YELLOW or BRIGHT RED in this room. But do take note that isa general caution and the Flying star numbers: MS#, WS#, Base(Palace) # should be looked at before jumping to the wrong conclusion. For example, if the sector hasMS#6 with WS#6 and Base#1 as an example,#5 at this sector is a non-issue. However, if any other star numbers like #5, #9 or #2 arein-any combination at this sector(NW), then dotake caution to try to cure it - especially ina NWbedroom or main entrance which is the mouth of the house also. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Jane, Please see below:- 1. Apply Flying Star Feng Shui in relation to the best color scheme at each specific location. And since she is renovating a specific toilet at a specific compass direction, then the color scheme should harmonise with the Flying star numbers taking into account also how much lighting is at this sector to determine whether it is appropriate to use darker or lighter colors. Therefore, I hope you don't mind me saying so, one think to quote "in the name of Feng Shui" but yet, non of the work carried out is truly in the traditional-way-of-Feng Shui does not gel at all. It is no wonder that many don't seem to get things right and often put the blame on "Feng Shui" which may give it a bad name. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, Since Grand Duke resides at the West, this year, best not to as you had mentioned not to antagonise the Grand Duke, here. Majority of normal homes don't often use "red dragons" to guard the home. Using dragons to guard the home is thus not common place. Best to avoid placing one at the West entrance. In terms of which elements to use at a specific sector, it is best to use the Flying star numbers to deduce whether a sector can or cannot use red rather than assume that because West = metal = white = tiger, then red = fire to be used here to control metal. Frankly, not too good a method to use. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Mr Teng, Usually, this is considered as an issue but in an apartment as you had mentioned below, not possible to relocate it. For Feng Shui problems, often, there are two or more major flaws within a home to cause us problems. Thus on it's own, it is still acceptable. But if there are more issues in a home, it will add to the problems. Try to make sure that there are if possible, no other major issues in a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Kathy, For the purpose of drawing a Flying Star chart under the Compass School of Feng Shui, your home's facing direction should be considered as North. If the compass direction is exactly as drawn in the attachment, then it should be considered as Flying star chart N2 (352.5 to 7.4 degrees) or this is also a N2 0/360 degree home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Alex, 1. Actually, what it means is that for example: if one has a new home completed on or before 2004; but had only moved-in after 2004, then we can consider it as a Period 8 home. 2. Thus, it is not like someone else had moved-out of the home especially if it was built prior to 2004 and when we move it, it does not mean that the home is now a Period 8 home. This "old" home is still considered a period 7 or 6 .... etc.. home. 3. Therefore, it applies to homes that had being completed prior to 2004 and no one had yet stayed in it. And when we purchase and stay in it from 2004 onwards, we can than consider it a Period 8 home. Butit is not a period8 home under Para 2, above. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Sophia, So far, Guan Yin does not ever has a twin. So, looks like it is not that favourable to place two on the same altar! Equally, so far, no one has yet to place 6 Fu Lu Shou together nor place two Guan Kong etc.. together. Prior to the purchase of Guan Yin, usually, how one buys the type of statute depends on one's ba zi. For example, if the person is a weak water person, then, it is highly recommended that an all white Guan Yin is used at home. Or if a person is a weak wood person or a weak fire person, Guan Yin made of wood is favourable etc... One Guan Yin can be placed next to a Buddha but both should not be on the same height or level. Since Guan Yin sits on a lotus leaf, it is best to place her higher than the buddha figurine. If there is an ancestor altar, the altar should be at the lowest level (thus lowest ranking) and not of equal height as the Guan Yin or buddha. The elephant deity is of Indian origin and should be placed below Guan Yin or buddha figurine. If one of Guan Yin has not has it's eyes dotted, there is no issue in keeping it away. But if one of the Guan Yin has it's eyes dotted, then best to sent it to the temple. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Sophia, In every development there are always units that are either suitable to the breadwinner or may have good Flying Star Feng Shui. Recently, a client bought a reasonably good unit with favourable Flying star Feng Shui i.e. the penthouse unit and also not affected by the afternoon sun. There are still several upper floors that have yet to be sold direclty by the developer. As usual, since no two units are identical, both Shapes and forms and compass school FS has to be applied. There are however, some units at ground level that has it's own P.E.S. (Personal enclosed space). Some of these units may have poison arrow in the form of either a pillar slicing thru the glass sliding door at the living room area or a concrete beam (yellow) colour that looks like a gun "shooting" into some of the ground floor units. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Vakta, Definitely not in a (sleeping) bedroom. Usually, it can either be placed in a "private" room such as the study or for the Chinese, it is quite common to be placed in the living room wall(s). But it is best not to place the photos facing the toilet, or share the toilet wall or face the dinning table. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Mich, Honestly, to ways of looking at Feng Shui: Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, few people would place a shower under the stairs. Perhaps, a toilet next to it is quite common. However, some of your questions can be commented under Shapes and Forms. But, truly either you should seek expert help or if you know Compass School Feng Shui, best to do a Flying Star chart to analyse especially locations for the dining area, toilet and even kitchen area. Otherwise, to answer your questions is like picking up a dice and rolling it on the table. Whatever comes up is the answer! Not so reliable rite? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Sable, Usually, if an offering is made, it is best made during the eve of Chinese New Year which was suppose to be 8 February 2005. Often, during the 1st to the 15th lunar day, it is best to avoid making an offering. Thus, the next best date is on the 16th lunar day i.e. 24 February 2005. It is considered not auspicious to do so between 9 Feb to 23 February 2005 Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, In addition, how does the interior look like? Did the previous owner also did any renovations within the home? Usually, by removing the roof, the home would often be a candidate of change to a new period. But since it was done 8 years ago, your home is most likely a Period 7 home (1984 to 2003) instead of a Period 8 home. A home is considered as under Period 8 if the reno was done on or after 2004. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Oliv, 1. I must emphasie that the Flying Star concept uses the Five elements concept. 2. Between the "cures" related to the Productive cycle or "cures" based on the Destructive cycle, one should always try to use "cures" relating to the Productive cycle, first. 3. Again, I refer to the 5 elements cycle under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 4. Based on the subsitution model which I had just recently postulated:- The productive cycle:- Metal -
  19. Dear J Seco, Firstly, sorry for the side-track, here. It is good to understand that under Period 8, #8 usually has a higher weightage than other stars. Thus for example, in a sector such as the centrepoint of the home i.e. with a #8. But if there is a #5 at this sector, since both are earth stars, but because #8 is the reigning star, it is usually far more auspicious or has a higher weightage of luck than say #5. Thus, some people may advise the hanging of a windchime at this location even if #5 is present with #8 such as the centrepoint of the home. But the windchime is equally destructive to #8. Thus, this is a lose-lose situation. Best not to hang a windchime, here. Please see below:- Usually, if we go for safe driving course, this course is often known as "defensive" driving. Why not be alittle more pro-active being on the defensive rather than leaving the doors open for a "sneak-attack". Thus, even with a sum of ten, we should go for some prevention rather than too late!
  20. Dear Sophia, Please see below:- Many of us think in terms of enhancing wealth. But many of us do it literally the wrong way. For example, some people force themselves to maintain a fish tank even though this is not their hobby. Imagine, to some of these people, the toil of weekly cleaning the fish tank and other maintenance chores like feeding the fish. To a fish hobbist this is entirely different! To him or her, it is a pleasure to maintain their fish tank! It is the same senario. This "fool" was told that he has to cover his TV set each day before sleeping. And this really silly fool, adds to the sillyness of having to enslave himself with such unnecesary routines each day and out. Instead of living a happy "care-free" life, many people, become too obsessed with performing this or similar "rituals" for the sake of "Feng Shui". The morale of the story is "instead of what is the best picture" to hang, we should collectively as a family decide what we really, really like. And hang them. But most people may prefer to keep the location clear or don't bother to hang a picture or painting.

Dear Mara, This type of reasoning does not seem logical. It is like saying that the world is SQUARE? I can understand Muslims, having to pray facing Mecca and when they die and buried, their body i.e. head to legs face Mecca. This is a Muslim's belief. But, East? Why not West? or South? Frankly, if it is suppose to apply to the masses, then, this is a total untruth. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Sophia, Please see below:- It is more a concern than reality. Since the fridge is not known to emit any dangerous radiation or microwave. The only concern is with some fridge *touchwood* is the "heat" .... But given that there isasolid wall between the bed-head and the opposite side fridge, there is no issue, here. The worse "senario" is perhaps a neighbour of the same floor level hanging a (railway station, type of wall clock) facing our unit. Symbolically, the Chinese does not like to "give" a clock to others... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Sophia, Since Grand Duke is at the location mentioned, it is better to be on the safe side -- i.e. move the grandfather clock away from this location. However, a double edged sword exists if there are nasty #5's x 2 at this location. If so, between choosing ot offend Grand Duke or "submitting" one's soul to devil, it is better should there be a multiple of #5 in that location to leave it to deal with the "devil". The morale of the story? " The Devil has the right of way, first! Grand Duke, move-aside!". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Michelle, 1. In many of the past forum messages, it is best to "slow down", perhaps take some deep breath before committing to what you had written, below. 2. The key success to anything we do is to understand the purpose of each concept and it's strengths and weakness. 3. Called simply "the three-step-approach": 3.1 What is the purpose of the concept / theory or idea? 3.2 Whatare it's strengths? 3.3 What are it's weakness? 4. For example, what you had mentioned is the Eight House Theory or 4 Good/4 Bad directions. 5. The purpose of this theory is to see whether a home fits the breadwinner or not. I re-emphaise again -- "whether a home fits the breadwinner". 6. Does it in any way say that about two persons? Breadwinner fit another person? Other than a home. 7. So how come? A home can changed into another "person" such that we come to the conclusion that since Person A does not suit a specific home, but perhaps another Person B suits it. 8. Here, we cannot therefore join this equation that since house does not suit Person A; therefore Person A must = to Person B? 9. If we consider this "paring" then it is statistically ridiculous that there is a 50-50 percent chance that we either suit or cannot suit each other since there are only two categories: East group and West group persons. 10. However, we cannot be so naive as to provide this evidence in court as one of the reasons why both couples had irreconciable differences. A judge would think of us as LOONY or mad? The poor lawyer or solicitor handling our case could end up in contempt of court! 11. Based on the 3-step-approach, we can realise that perhaps the Chinese zodiac signs (equivalent English zodiac signs) are meant more for human-to-human assessment. And not human-with-home (Eight House). 12. This the purpose of the Chinese zodiac is to look at compatibility e.g. http://www.lovesigns.net 13. The morale of the story is "Don't jump immediately to the wrong conclusions". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Hoa Luong, Please refer to my earlier forum message which I clearly stated that a WS#9 is not the same as WS#8. In many of the forum messages a WS#8 = current prosperity and water should be activated here. Please check my previous message where I mentioned that WS#9 is best associated with Wood element. Thus it would be reasonable to place a plant at that sector to enhance the future prosperity. As to whether the plant is medium sized or large it has to go with the location where one wants to place it. And it is for your own judgement to do so. If the location can support a large tree and looks reasonable then go ahead. But if as a result of the big tree, for example especially mango tree, it has a large "foot-print" of leaves and may leave a location too dark. Only perhaps Tarzan would enjoy it or just maybe Jane may divorce Tarzan because it became too dark. No one knows. Warmest Regards, Cecil
