Yes, I agree with you on that the work done does not merit the house changing to Period 8. In my opinion your house is most likely still a Period 7 home.

This area is an HDB enclave surrounded by Bus Depots and Singapore's Girl's home, with greenery and government works nearby. I have frequented this area often as it serves as a shortcut from the east coast to the Hougang area towards Sembawang - especially in the 1980s. It appears that there is some fenced-up digging or possibly sewerage works taking place.
